Entry #10. Squid Game.

Image
Okay by now I think we have all heard of or know what the Netflix show Squid Game  is. I think we can all agree that it is one of the best and most popular shows out there today. With that being said, if you haven't seen this show yet, it is definitely a must! Right from the start it is interesting and all throughout the show, even though it is only 9 episodes long, it has the perfect amount of action, suspense, and even a bit of emotional appeal. In fact, along with Gilmore Girls and The Fosters , this show is one of my favorites! To start off, the show begins with telling a bit of the background of a poor young man and his struggles. After showing this, it gets a little interesting. While in the subway late at night Gi-hun, one of the main characters, is approached by a mysterious stranger. This stranger is dressed up nicely wearing a suit and tie and holds a suitcase. The stranger asks Gi-hun if he would like to earn a bit of money by playing a simple game, and of course he is

Entry #9. Topics in Food Quest.

In today's world pretty much everybody knows what fast food is. Although most people enjoy fast food, it does cause many problems in the world today. In this image regarding fast food, it illustrates quite simply one of the issues that fast food causes. Here take a look:  Eating Fast Food Issues Cartoon . By looking at this image we can plainly see a family eating dinner together, except this dinner is not a traditional kind of family dinner. In the cartoon, by looking at the background and details of the drawing, we can also see that the family is in some sort of restaurant. Due to the packaging of the food, as in the fries, we can safely assume that the family is in a fast food restaurant. Overall, the caption of the cartoon is what brings the real issue to light. In the caption, it states that what they are eating is "Sunday lunch", due to this saying it is meant to have the meaning that having fast food regularly for lunch is normal in today's world. However, tra

Entry #8. Free Time.

Image
In today's world, many of us (all of us) know what Covid-19/the Coronavirus is. We have all, in the biggest or slightest way, have been impacted by it. The truth is, although I knew that it was very real, I personally never thought that I'd be affected by it so much until my family got sick with it (don't worry they are okay!). But now since my family members have it, you know what that means, I have to isolate myself in order to stay safe and healthy. Due to this, I have to stay in my room 99% of the time alone so that means lot's of... you guessed it... free time. But just because I have this "alone time" it doesn't mean that it has to be boring; and of course we can't forget to keep our minds healthy and strong (because it can get lonely). If you are ever in this situation, or are at this moment, and you don't know of any ways on how to stay entertained, I'll help you! I've had time to think of plenty of ways to keep myself busy, so her

Entry #7. Fresh.

Image
All my life I've never really questioned the food that I've eaten or even thought about where it came from or how it was made. I mean have any of us really? It wasn't until after watching the film "Fresh" that I began to be curious about my food. It definitely left me surprised! The film shows the good and the bad aspects of the food industry, and it also provides information of the food that we consume and buy, how it was made, where it comes from, and much more. It's true that this movie is mostly based on farming but I think that it can really interest and is meant for anyone who buys groceries from stores and eats (so everyone!). In addition, as someone who is an animal lover, loves to eat without thinking of what I'm eating and without asking myself if it's healthy or not, this film was very informational and impacted me strongly. It not only made me think of how I could improve my diet and how to choose healthy foods, but it also made me think

Entry #6. The State Fair.

Image
Since it's that time of the year again, let's talk about the Arizona State Fair! It comes once a year and stays for only a month. A little bit of background is that it began at the fairgrounds (Veterans Memorial Coliseum) in 1905. Ever since then, residents from all over the state have come together every year to enjoy the diverse communities, and have family fun at such a unique environment. Not only does the fair offer many opportunities of amusement but it also brings a sense of unity to our society as a state. Let's face it, when we think of the fair we think of the rides, games, the concerts, the exhibits, and of course, the FOOD! Who doesn't love the fair?! Although it can get a little crowded and pricey, I'd say that it is definitely worth it. Each minute that you spend there will not be wasted only because there are SO many options for you to choose from when it comes to food, rides, or games (57 rides and attractions to be exact) to keep you entertained.

Entry #5. Mayhem.

Image
Ad link:  Cat Allstate Mayhem Before you get into reading this make sure you click the link to watch the commercial, that way you can get a better understanding of everything.  Where do I begin?! Right from the start this commercial was very amusing! Dur to this, I think that the author wanted the ad to be funny in order for the audience to experience laughter. As the commercial starts I notice that all throughout the ad the plot takes place inside a home, this indicates that the commercial is trying to promote an everyday, normal lifestyle of a pet owner. Also, during the entire commercial each scene consists of a man acting as a cat, as a matter of fact, the commercial is based on the thoughts, words, and actions of the "cat". This tells me that the author's intended audience is animal owners, or more specifically, cat owners. In the beginning of the ad the main characters, which are a couple, bring home a "cat" that turns out to be pretty reckless. In additi

Entry #4. Halloween!

Image
Halloween is one of the best times of the year. It basically marks the start of the rest of the best national holidays and, in my opinion, the best seasons of the year. Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated each year on the 31st of October. This is the day that everyone, no matter the age, can dress up in costumes and be whoever or whatever they want to be. Not only this, but children can also go trick-or-treating as well; this is when kids go walking around their neighborhoods, going door to door to ask for and collect candy while in their Halloween costumes. While doing this, they also say the expression "trick or treat". Although this is very fun and is typically what is done on Halloween, usually almost all adults and most teens do not participate in this activity. But, just because they do not participate in this activity, it shouldn't mean that they have to do nothing on this day. Right? If you are someone who doesn't like trick-or-treating or handing out c
