Entry #7. Fresh.
All my life I've never really questioned the food that I've eaten or even thought about where it came from or how it was made. I mean have any of us really? It wasn't until after watching the film "Fresh" that I began to be curious about my food. It definitely left me surprised! The film shows the good and the bad aspects of the food industry, and it also provides information of the food that we consume and buy, how it was made, where it comes from, and much more. It's true that this movie is mostly based on farming but I think that it can really interest and is meant for anyone who buys groceries from stores and eats (so everyone!). In addition, as someone who is an animal lover, loves to eat without thinking of what I'm eating and without asking myself if it's healthy or not, this film was very informational and impacted me strongly. It not only made me think of how I could improve my diet and how to choose healthy foods, but it also made me think of how the food industry can improve on many things. Moreover, throughout the film there were some scenes that made me feel pretty sad, angry, happy, or in disbelief. For example, one scene showed how the animals in some "farms" were treated (which was bad), another explained how the earth was impacted in a negative way due to the fact that the animals and the environment that they were in, were not being taken care of properly, and another scene showed how a man from a local business was teaching his community about better/healthy foods and how to actually grow them. All in all, this film was very engaging and truthful, which is very important for the audience in order for them to learn about how they can help/improve their health, their community, and their environment. Although some people may disagree with what is said in the film, this film definitely is important and should matter to everyone because it shines the light on some real and big problems in today's world that not many people knew about; also, as Americans and as a community we should know about the issues regarding the food that we eat and we should care, if we are aware then we can choose to help and make a difference and also choose a better and healthier lifestyles for ourselves.
I totally agree with your blog. Watching this film truly changed my mind when it came to what I put in my body. It made me, and probably so many others, actually become aware of what goes on in the food industry.
