Entry #4. Halloween!

Halloween is one of the best times of the year. It basically marks the start of the rest of the best national holidays and, in my opinion, the best seasons of the year. Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated each year on the 31st of October. This is the day that everyone, no matter the age, can dress up in costumes and be whoever or whatever they want to be. Not only this, but children can also go trick-or-treating as well; this is when kids go walking around their neighborhoods, going door to door to ask for and collect candy while in their Halloween costumes. While doing this, they also say the expression "trick or treat". Although this is very fun and is typically what is done on Halloween, usually almost all adults and most teens do not participate in this activity. But, just because they do not participate in this activity, it shouldn't mean that they have to do nothing on this day. Right?

If you are someone who doesn't like trick-or-treating or handing out candy, here are a few festive things that you can do on this spooky day instead:

First off, you can bake and decorate cookies with family and friends. I know what you're thinking, "not everyone is the best baker", and if you're not that's okay! This is meant to be a fun and stress free activity. But hey, not only does this make as the perfect opportunity for you to practice your baking skills, you can also get creative! Also, who doesn't love some fresh baked cookies?! Just in case you don't have any cookie recipes already, here is a link to a website that has a variety of cookie recipe  options: delish

In addition, another activity that you can do is sit down, grab some popcorn, and watch Halloween movies. If you decide to do this, there are so many options for you to choose from. For example, there are horror movies or actual Halloween family movies. Some of the best movies for Halloween, in my opinion, are: Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Coraline, The Conjuring, The Exorcist, Hocus Pocus, any "Scream", "Halloween", or "Scary Movie" movies, and so many more.

Lastly, one more thing that you can do is carve pumpkins. This is such a festive activity for you to do where you can also test your creativity! This activity can be a bit challenging if it is your first time so I do suggest going to the store and getting a pumpkin carving kit and also the obvious, a pumpkin. Don't forget to handle the tools safely and bring a trash can because things can get messy! If you need a few design ideas for carving out your pumpkin click this link here: woman's day

All in all, each of these activities are exciting, entertaining, and great for people of all age groups! Whether you are alone or with family and friends, each of these ideas are perfect. I highly recommend doing at least one or all of these projects to be able to celebrate Halloween in your own way!

  5. Hi Isabel I love this blog post it looks so professional! You should seriously think about becoming a blogger one day, if your not one already that is. These are very informational tips and very good ones to choose from. My friend and I actually bought pre-cut frozen Halloween cookies to bake for Halloween but it would be fun to get more creative than that. We also plan on carving pumpkins as well, but I actually like painting pumpkins better because I am better at it then carving. I don’t know what I will do for Halloween, but I am thinking maybe having my sister do my Halloween makeup, dressing up as Harley Quinn, going to the store to buy candy, and then maybe watching some horror movies. Well we will see about that last one because I don’t really like horror movies that much haha.

  6. I wrote my entry on Halloween too! It is my favorite holiday! In my entry, I recommended the movie 'Sinister' if you enjoy scary movies. It is not technically not a Halloween movie, but is seriously so scary. If you are into that, definitely go watch it. I also really liked how you laid out your entry, one of our peers suggested you become a real blogger, and I agree. You have a knack for picking out good photos and for writing!
