Entry #6. The State Fair.
Since it's that time of the year again, let's talk about the Arizona State Fair! It comes once a year and stays for only a month. A little bit of background is that it began at the fairgrounds (Veterans Memorial Coliseum) in 1905. Ever since then, residents from all over the state have come together every year to enjoy the diverse communities, and have family fun at such a unique environment. Not only does the fair offer many opportunities of amusement but it also brings a sense of unity to our society as a state. Let's face it, when we think of the fair we think of the rides, games, the concerts, the exhibits, and of course, the FOOD! Who doesn't love the fair?! Although it can get a little crowded and pricey, I'd say that it is definitely worth it. Each minute that you spend there will not be wasted only because there are SO many options for you to choose from when it comes to food, rides, or games (57 rides and attractions to be exact) to keep you entertained. From the big Ferris wheels, the zip line, little kid rides, to the intense, fast rides, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Not to mention, there are also many little gift/souvenir stands that you can buy cool things from as well as lots of games that you can play in order to win a stuffed animal or other prizes. There is also a petting zoo and a monster truck attraction! The point is, whether it's a romantic date, a family day, or a day out with your friends, the Arizona State Fair is perfect; it has so much to offer so that you can have as much fun as possible! If you haven't gone already, I definitely highly suggest that you do!
Wow I never knew the fair created in 1905! Loved reading your blog, super interesting! Now I want to go visit the fair and ride a couple of the 57 rides!

ReplyDeleteHave you ever been to the fair? I haven't but your descriptions made me want to go! I do wish you went into detail more about what rides and food carts there are. How does it feel, smell, or sound? Add some examples of things you did when you went. I love the aesthetic photos you added to your blog!
ReplyDeleteThis was a very good blog I just went to the fair on Friday and it was really fun, But it was quite expensive.
ReplyDeleteHey, Isabel. These four new entries are looking pretty good. You have some good visual appeal with images, but you could keep working at visual engagement with text formatting and layout. You present some interesting topics for discussion, and you are working your development of those topics. Keep digging deeper into social and cultural connections that help your readers relate and connect more.
