Entry #3. Mint.
I wanted to feel refreshed, cool, and clean. So what did I do to make that happen? I got up and leaned in to pick up a small container about the size of my palm. As I shook the colorful plastic case I could hear the sound of the pieces sliding around on the inside, it was making noise almost like a musical instrument would. With little effort and force I then snapped the lid open. While holding my hand out I tilted the case letting a piece pour out and fall right into the palm of my hand. If I hadn't been looking down at the small piece of "food" I probably would've forgotten it was there, for it was so tiny which made it light as a feather. During the second that I observed the circular pill-like piece I noticed the unique pattern that it had, it was white with small blue stains on it, almost like freckles on a person's face. After holding it for a split second I quickly placed it in my mouth to eat. As it sat on my tongue I could instantly feel the impact of the small piece. It had such a sweet yet bitter taste. The longer I left it in my mouth the stronger the flavor got and with that intense taste came along a surprisingly cold temperature. Who knew that such a small food could be so powerful?! As the little piece rested between the roof of my mouth and my tongue, it slowly began melting and the more it dissolved, I could feel it getting smaller as well. Not to mention, the smaller it got the more delicate it was getting. Finally, it was the perfect time to bite into it, so once I fractured it with my teeth the petite piece of candy split in half and eventually crumbled and disappeared completely. After I had consumed the tiny food, my mouth felt frosty, fresh, and pristine. I knew that something about the outcome of this brief experience felt very familiar. Then it occurred to me! It was almost as if I had just finished brushing my teeth and gargling mouth wash.
